Katasha Rose British-Jamaican

Overview

THE IMPORTANCE OF ART

Art gives me faith in human beings. If we can create beautiful things, then there must be solutions to all the terrible things that's happening in the world. I also get this feeling when I go to galleries, thinking there is so much beauty in here, so much hope in art that humans must figure it out at the end of the day.

Katasha Rose is a contemporary abstract and portraiture artist based in London and born in the Caribbean. Her work explores beauty, identity and heritage as seen through the lens and experiences of an urban black British woman, rooted in her consciousness and ties to rural island life in the Caribbean.
